We Like It Here Beside the River (2014)
We Like it Here Beside the River marked the 45th year since Gerard's debut collection of poetry, The Flags Are Quiet (New Writers’ Press), in 1969. This limited edition included an original drawing made for the book by Donald Teskey, and was designed, typeset by hand & letterpress printed by Jamie Murphy at the Salvage Press.
The text was hand-set in 12, 18 & 22 point Caslon Old Face series 128, Monotype cast at The Whittington Press, and printed on a FAG Swiss Proof 40.
Printed on 170gsm Zerkall mouldmade in an edition of 45 copies. Copies 16—45 are in paper wrappers. Housed in slipcases, copies 1—15 are quarter bound in cloth covered boards by Tom Duffy at his studio in Dublin’s Five Lamps area.
